Like its great role model, the more compact Master Line Source 2, which can therefore be integrated into normal living spaces, works on the principle of the symmetrical line source. Four mid-range speakers and tweeters mounted one above the other radiate the sound in the form of a vertical cylinder and not – as is usual with conventional loudspeakers – spherically. As a result, the audio signals reach the listener directly without reflections on the ceiling and floor, which leads to an extremely clear and detailed sound image. The reproduction of the high and mid-range signals via several drivers offers extremely low distortion, high efficiency and great dynamics. This ensures a particularly lifelike and detailed reproduction.

In order to make uncompromising use of the high quality and freedom from distortion of the drivers, great attention was paid to freedom from vibrations in the case. The Line Source Drivers are mounted in a 10 mm thick aluminium baffle, which is glued over the entire surface to the actual housing. This consists of a composite of MDF panels and a viscoelastic heavy film – an extremely solid and rigid construction. This offers the two completely newly developed PIEGA woofers and the two passive radiators at the rear a perfect working environment.
